Improv 301
introduces students to the long form improvisation structure known as
"The Harold," developed by Del Close.

"The Harold" is a series of scenes inspired by a single suggestion that
fit together into one cohesive half hour piece.

Students learn how to

1) Perform openings

2) Create scenes inspired by an opening

3) Perform
"Group Games"

4) Second and third beats (returning to scenes later in
the piece).



Course meets for 8 sessions, each 2 hours long.

You cannot enroll in this course until you receive written notice that
you have successfully completed Improv 201. ONLY if 10 days have passed
since your last class and you have not received this

Students should have access to a computer and stable, robust internet access, webcam & microphone. 


This
online course uses Google Classroom and Google Meet programs to conduct
live sessions with your instructor and fellow students.

Drew DiFonzo Marks Drew DiFonzo Marks has been on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Comedy Bang! Bang!, HBO's Funny or Die Presents, Reno911!, and alot of dumb commercials. He is the co-creator, producer, and writer of the web-series "2Bed/1Bath" with over 1 million views, and a former writer for Comedy Central Digital.

He has been with UCB since 2003 and is on the teaching faculty. He took a year abroad to go write/perform at the 'Boom Chicago' comedy theatre in Amsterdam.

He performs improv every Thursday at 11 with his team "Last Day of School".
