Understanding the fundamentals will be achieved through exercises and scene work in class, seeing improv shows at UCB Theatre and reading the UCB Comedy Improvisation Manual.
Students are required to see at least 2 improvised shows at UCB Theatre before the end of the course.
Course meets for 8 sessions, each 3 hours long.
Students will take part in a class performance, generally held at UCB Theatre.
Class Size: 16 Students
Improv 101 students are required to acquire the Upright Citizens Brigade Comedy Improvisation Manual by class #2. The Manual can be purchased for non-refundable $25 at UCB Theatre, UCB Training Center NY, UCBstore.com or Amazon.com.

Tara Copeland, teacher
Tara Copeland has been been a member of the UCB community since 1997 and was a member of the Harold Team Mother at UCBNY for over ten years. Other shows included The Third Degree, Commedia Del High School, People People, Ms. Jackson and Diamond Lion. She can be seen every Thursday at 7pm at UCB Sunset with the musical improv house team Magic To Do and is a regular performer in the monthly show, Gravid Water.
