Understanding the fundamentals will be achieved through exercises and scene work in class, seeing improv shows at UCB Theatre and reading the UCB Comedy Improvisation Manual.
Students are required to see at least 2 improvised shows at UCB Theatre before the end of the course.
Course meets for 8 sessions, each 3 hours long.
Students will take part in a class performance, generally held at UCB Theatre.
Class Size: 16 Students
Improv 101 students are required to acquire the Upright Citizens Brigade Comedy Improvisation Manual by class #2. The Manual can be purchased for non-refundable $25 at UCB Theatre, UCB Training Center NY, UCBstore.com or Amazon.com.

Cissy Fenwick, teacher
Cissy Fenwick began improvising ten years ago in Washington, DC where she was a member of the Washington Improv Theater. In 2007 Cissy starting taking classes at UCB LA. Cissy is a member of UCB house team JV. She is also a member of Brand New Ball and the improvised documentary team Werner Hotdog.
She loves tree houses.
