IMPROVISING FROM A SCENARIO with Robert Ben Garant
In this workshop we will discuss and demonstrate how to improvise within a pre-scripted scenario, and you’ll hopefully get some insight as to how improvised TV shows work. We’ll use a real “scriptment” from an old episode of Reno 911! and discuss how improving off a script is acted, written, directed, and edited — how can you keep it fresh and funny but stick tp the plot points. Participation is not mandatory or guaranteed, but look the pre-supplied script over and be prepared to improv. We'll try to get to everybody. There will be a Q&A with Ben at the end of the session, no questions are off limits. We can talk about improv, Reno, screenwriting, gardening — whatever you want.
Students should have access to a computer and stable, robust internet access, webcam & microphone.
