CREATING CHARACTER THROUGH IMPROV with Kerri Kenney Silver
In this workshop, we will
focus on character development through improvisation. We will explore using improv as the foundation for building characters that can be used in scripted or semi-scripted stage and screen work. Student volunteers will be asked to develop rich character histories and then select characters will be thrown together into structured scenes. Participation
is not mandatory or guaranteed in this demonstration-oriented
workshop. There will be a Q&A with Kerri at the end of the session.
Students should have access to a computer and stable, robust internet access, webcam & microphone.
This online course uses Google Classroom and Google Meet programs to conduct live sessions with your instructor and fellow students.

Kerri Kenney-Silver is an actress, comedian, writer and producer. She is best known for her role as Trudy Wiegel on Reno 911!, which she co-created and for which she has received two Emmy nominations.
She has appeared in numerous films and television shows including Superstore, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Wanderlust, Bob’s Burgers, 2 Broke Girls and The Ellen Show. She began her career as the only female member of the sketch comedy group, The State on MTV.
