Breaking Down Sketch to Make us Better Improvisers with Brandon Gardner

The best
compliment an improv team can get is for the audience to not believe it
wasn’t written and rehearsed.  Our goal when we improvise is to create
scenes that have as clear, consistent and funny a comedic idea (The Game
of the Scene) as we’d expect from great sketch comedy.  Through video
examples, lecture and discussion we’ll break down the structure of
professional sketches and examine how we can apply these same comedic
principles to our improv.

This
class is for both experienced UCB students looking to deepen their
understanding of Game and for improvisers learning about the UCB
approach for the first time.

Students should have access to a computer and stable, robust internet access, webcam & microphone.
