PITCHING & WRITING TOPICAL SKETCHES THAT ARE FUNNY AND NOT SAD with Beth Appel

Everything going on in the world is sad! So, how do you write a topical sketch that's funny and not sad? You take this class! Come into the first session ready to pitch and leave the second session with two completed sketches and a list of even more topical sketch ideas.

Prerequisite: Completion of Sketch 101 within previous two years

Beth Appel, teacher

Beth Appel Beth Appel is a performer, writer, and director living in Los Angeles. Beth spent several years as Artistic Director of UCBTLA and can currently be seen performing at UCB Franklin every Tuesday with her improv team, CARDINAL REDBIRD. Beth wrote and starred in the long-running solo show, BETH APPEL: SEXIEST WOMAN ALIVE, and she has written, directed and performed in countless other sketch and improv shows at UCB on both coasts (East and West).

You may have seen her on IFC, MTV, TruTV, in various movies and webseries, or, if you live in Germany or Switzerland, in a Volkswagen commercial with fellow heartthrob Robbie Williams.
