Building on skills from Character 101, this is a writing and performance class focused on creating original characters. The class will be a workshop that will focus on developing a suite of characters that can be used for professional development. Students will create at least 8 original character pieces. 

Please note: Students will be expected to write and prepare characters outside of class each week. You will perform those characters! You will write AND perform!

Hal Rudnick, teacher

Hal Rudnick Hal Rudnick enjoys the heck out of performing at UCB. During his time there he's been a part of THE MIDNIGHT SHOW, six different Harold teams, two Maude teams, and countless other shows. Currently he performs monthly in TOURNAMENT OF NERDS, and Characters Welcome. He also enjoys the opportunity to teach sketch and improv comedy at UCB. Outside of UCB he's an actor and writer having appeared all over TV including the shows Key & Peele, Adam Ruins Everything, COMMUNITY and RENO 911! He's written for FOX, FUEL TV, Disney Channel, FUNNY OR DIE, and on many other projects. Check out his popular weekly web show at youtube.com/screenjunkies.
