Each master class course offered at this level is instructor-driven. Students will get to study the Harold and related performance pieces at an advanced level and will receive in-depth personal feedback about their own performance and progress as improvisers.
Class Size 16 students.
Advanced Harold Workshop with Anthony King
This class will continue to focus on the Harold as well as individual scene work with an emphasis on support and active game play. As the class progresses we will focus on group ownership or scenes as well as playing the Harold as a thematic piece, not just a collection of scenes.
Students will perform in one class performance at UCB Theatre.
Class Size: 16 students

Anthony King, Teacher
He co-wrote the Off-Broadway show, GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL!, which also enjoyed a run in Off-West End in London and is now being performed all over the world.The show received Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle & Drama Desk Award Nominations, and won a NYMF Award for Excellence in Musical Theatre Writing(Book).
Stage performance credits include Anthony's solo shows, CHOSEN (NYC International Fringe Festival) and DAY 8: TAKE COMPLETE CONTROL (UCBT), as well as the original cast of GUTENBERG!
On the TV, Anthony has been featured on MTV's Human Giant, Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien, Late Night w/Jimmy Fallon, and many commercials.He's also been featured on the web in videos from UCBComedy, College Humor,Comedy Central and The Onion, and you can see him for a few moments in the feature film Mystery Team.
Anthony's regional and NYC directing credits include: 1940s RADIO HOUR, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, MISTER (starring Anthony Rapp), A CHORU SLINE and many others. UCB Theatre directing credits include KILLGORE: THE RESURRECTION, THE PATRIOTS (HBO Aspen Comedy Festival), AZIZ ANSARI PUNCHED A WALL, WHO'S YOUR DADDY (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), GOD'S POTTERY (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, "Best Newcomers"), LISTEN KID (NY Music Theatre Festival), and many more. He was also the Assistant Director of the Off-Broadway shows SUMMER OF '42 and THE WILD PARTY (Lippa). Anthony is a member of the Lincoln Center Director's Lab and a proud recipient of the Jonathan Alper Directing Fellowship at Manhattan Theatre Club.
Anthony has developed television shows for CBS and A&E, and has written fora few shows on Comedy Central. He writes frequently for GQ and he co-created the "Songs In The Key of Craigslist" series for Details.com. He also regularly collaborates with Improv Everywhere.
Anthony currently writes for Best Friends Forever on NBC. He was the Artistic Director of the UCB Theatre in NYC from 2005-2011
