Writing A Sitcom Spec with Sean Conroy

In this class students will write a spec script for an existing show, such as 30 Rock, Community, or Modern Family. Students will pitch an episode idea, outline it, write a first draft, then rewrite it based on feedback. The class will be run as closely to a real writers' room as possible, with feedback from all students encouraged, as this is part of the actual sitcom writing process. At the end of 8 weeks, students will walk away with a full spec script.

In addition to the eight class sessions, each student will engage in an individual, one-on-one 30 minute feedback session with the instructor. Students must be available on both Monday, October 4 from 3-6pm AND Monday, October 11 from 3-6pm. Your 30 minute individual feedback session will be assigned on one of these two dates.

Prerequisite: Completion of Sketch 101
